Message from the Treasurer:

Dear Members,

This month the church boiler which is about 12 years old failed and could not be repaired. It had a 10 year warranty. The church council met and reviewed two options to replace it.

The first was to replace it with a same model. This was a boiler that Northside heating was from old stock. The model is no longer being made and would have limited repair parts.

Their estimate was about $7,000.

The second was to replace it with a new wall model. This is a new style and would be an upgrade to our controls. Their estimate was about $12,000.

The council approved buying second option and borrowing the funds from the expansion fund. The final bill was $11,665. They also approved taking a special offering for the boiler.

Members who want to make an offering, can either use the special boiler offering envelopes that are in the narthex or use their envelope and mark the other line as boiler offering.
