Rev. Erich J. Hoeft

Pastor Erich J. Hoeft was born in 1975 in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed as a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Okauchee, Wisconsin (ELS). There he attended Christian Day School and later graduated from Oconomowoc High School.

At Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, Minnesota, Pastor Hoeft received an Associate of Arts decree. While at Bethany he met his wife-to-be, Gerilynn (Nelson) and they were married July 27, 1996. Working as a dorm manager at Bethany, he studied at the University of Minnesota, Mankato, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music.

He served as a vicar at Grace Lutheran Church in Vero Beach, Florida and received his Masters of Divinity degree from Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Seminary in May of 2004, Pastor Hoeft was ordained and entered the public ministry at Faith Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Clara City, Minnesota. He served there until November of 2009, when he accepted the call to serve the Five Point Parish of North Iowa (First Shell Rock, Immanuel, Lake Mills, Lime Creek, and Somber Lutheran Churches), where he served until July 2015 when he accepted the call to Holton Lutheran Church where he serves until the present time.

While in Iowa, God blessed Pastor and Geri with three children: Isaac (April 28, 2010), Lukas (May 1, 2013) and Elijah (April 16, 2014).
